- so bizarre to be man. On one side I am alone, afraid, and
unsure of so much. On the other I am empowered, confident in my
freedom, and so aware of myself and surroundings. I am man, a careful
balance between all that is and all that is not; all that's known and
all that is not; hot and cold; right and wrong; creation and
destruction. I am exactly like any other man, simply struggling to
survive; just like any other animal or living organism.
But exactly who am I? A question I could ask every single day of my
existence and the answers would always change. I enjoy this fact,
while others might say how uncertain, unsure, indefinite, or how
scary. While I know who I am, I also know that I am constantly
evolving and changing like water. With this life of mine I will
transform everyday, wake with a blank slate, learn something new and
forget everything else. I won't let my mind stay hung up on one
specific or another. It is clingy in its nature. I must not
concentrate on one aspect of life and ignore all those other aspects
and factors of life. I strive to have an open mind and not let it
come to uninformed conclusions. I want to be a complete man and I choose not to dissect life, if I were to, it would become stagnant and stale, and therefore not life. I am an artist in life, and I feel all
art is parallel to the world and in fact life itself.
I am a visual artist as well as a martial artist. I love to draw and
create and get lost in my work. I love the feeling of my pen first
touching blank space and the wonders of what could come out of it. I love to throw punches and strikes. I truly get in touch with myself through these means. I believe Bruce Lee's teachings that throwing strikes is not simply a way of defeating your opponent, but a means to defeat your ego, pride, and anger and find who you are underneath all your layers. Though a strike is just that, a strike, one may find self-expression through it. All my work is a reflection of myself.

So I've hit a rough patch in the road. Though I've hit the ground running. But I know things will be improving. Only, I also know that it is darkest only before it is totally black. I am cutting out some of the unnecessary elements in my life and certainly throwing out the drama that brings me down. I am black & white filled with wash & water. I'm a pen & ink artist as well as a martial artist. I have more energy than anyone I know.
